Solar panel modules installed on your roof, in ground-mount locations, or on top of parking canopies capture the sun’s rays and convert them to electricity. The panels use photovoltaic (PV) cells to collect photons from sunlight and transform them into an electrical current that can power your home, including all appliances, HVAC units, electronic devices, and electric vehicles. The excess power the system makes can be banked in a battery to use later or it would be fed back into the grid.

Solar panels with batteries store excess energy generated during the day and release it to power your home at night when the sun is not actively producing electricity. This enables you to enjoy the benefits of solar energy around the clock, even when the sun goes down. A PV system without a battery would pull electricity from the grid at night.
